Dear Brown Foundation members,
We are in the first week of June – which means that we are down to our final month for you to distribute your annual study-fund allocation out of your donor-advised fund (DAF) at JP Morgan Giving. You should plan to distribute your funds not later than June 30, 2025.
A few important notes related to the DAFs:
- Last call: If you have any final matching receipts, please get those submitted via the Atrium ASAP. After June 15, you may still submit receipts, but those will be applied to the new fiscal year.
- The month of July will be a “blackout month” – no DAF activity in July. This will be the time for the staff to replenish accounts with next year’s annual allocation. Your new FY2026 annual allocation will be deposited in your DAF by early August.
- Finally, please be advised: JP Morgan’s system may generate a pop-up message as you take your account balance down close to $0. (See screenshot below.) The message may ask you if you wish to close your account. If this occurs, select NO to confirm that the grant’s purpose is not to close the donor-advised fund. JP Morgan Charitable Giving has assured us that even if your grant reduces the balance to $0, your DAF account will not close. If anyone from the JP Morgan Charitable Giving team contacts you, please inform us immediately so we can connect with our JP Morgan contact and resolve the situation.
